Your support to the UAC is critical to sustain and grow our arts community and to develop our community-at-large. Here are a few reasons why your gift is so important.
The UAC serves an important arts leadership role expected by our community. Through on-going citizen engagement and input, the need is continually reinforced for the UAC to serve a lead role in coordinating, convening, promoting and connecting the arts. With your support, we invest in Greensboro's future and long-range planning for our arts and culture industry. We work together with many partners to make this happen.
The UAC is a critical resource for the arts in Greater Greensboro. We fulfill an important role in serving as a central resource and referral point for the arts by maintaining an inventory of arts organizations and artists; working with partners to establish a comprehensive arts calendar; serving as a core knowledge base of Greensboro's arts offerings; and working with our arts providers to effectively package and promote the arts. Each of these activities has an economic impact on our community both in revenue and job creation.
The UAC advocates for the arts at both local and state levels including the City of Greensboro's investment through in-kind support of the arts through the Greensboro Cultural Center which includes rent, maintenance and utilities for approximately 15 arts organizations in the Cultural Center. The UAC works to maintain support from Guilford County and the State of North Carolina, which directly impacts our local economy and public revenue streams. The UAC is also a strong advocate for arts in education, assisting at both the state and local levels to ensure the arts are an integral part of our children's education.
Your gift to the UAC is an investment in the arts community as a whole and promotes economic development, arts in education and cultural tourism through UAC grants and services. Your donation yields quality, dynamic entertainment and cultural offerings accessible to everyone; arts in our schools to enhance learning; a flourishing base of active, professional artists; a better quality of life; and public art which builds dialogue and community communications. Your gift, no matter how great or small, has a positive impact on our community.
"I am thankful for the United Arts Council's support of arts education, by offering grants to schools and artists."
